Leader of the Conservative Group and Leader of Torridge District Council

James was born and brought up in the local area. He was first elected to Torridge in 2003.  James lives in St. Giles in the Wood where his family farms. He is Chief Executive of Rural Stress South West, a charity which helps people who live or work in rural areas and who are suffering from stress or have problems of some kind.  He has been named as Country Life Magazine’s Young Ambassador for the Countryside (2002) and as NFU’s Farming Ambassador (2003).  He is Chair of North Devon Area of Natural Beauty and a Trustee of Community Council of Devon.

James gained the newly created Two Rivers ward in May 2003 and was returned unopposed in May 2007.  Email: 

Andrew Eastman was first elected in 2003. He is also a Northam Town Councillor and is currently the Mayor of Northam.

David Fulford was first elected in 2007. He is also a Bideford Town Councillor

Tony has over a decade of experience as a Councillor. He has also served as a Devon County Councillor

Roger was first elected in 2007. He is also a Northam Town Councillor.

Sam was first elected to Torridge DC in a by-election in 2006. He was relected in 2007 and also became a Northam Town Councillor. Sam is the Whip of the Conservative group on Torridge.

Andrew was first elected in 2007. He is the youngest Councillor on Torridge, aged just 20.

Rosemary was first elected in 2007.
